How it all began…
Phillipe and Yvonne bought the shop on May 23rd 1977. Initially called Brown’s Bakery, after years of success they changed the name to Phillipe’s Bakery, as its known today.
Phillipe and Yvonne had their two children who have worked at the bakery helping throughout the years. Their son Wayne now runs the business as head baker, supported by his wife, Laura, and family.
Through thick and thin the bakery has stood supporting Skipton through strikes and lockdowns, aiming to supply people with quality baked goods in uncertain times.
Wayne has made it his mission to keep alive the Skipton famous steak pies and tea-cakes, serving the friendly locals and hard workers of the town that like to come down for a bacon butty. He hopes to continue baking for Skipton for many years to come, with hopes to pass the role on to the future bakers of the family.
